The mailman was very nice to me today, and I didn't even make a special trip to the box! For those taking the SAT, I highly recommend the $10 upgrade for score reports.

Today I am able to conclude that DS's biggest "issue" was indeed time, as it doesn't seem that he omitted any question that wasn't at the end of a section. He did quite good in math overall, but with a little maturity and speed, he could really make a run with this next year.

There were 3 math sections (out of 10 total sections)

On the first and the third one (2nd and 8th tests) he did amazingly well, nearly completing the sections with about 80% accuracy. However, on his 2nd math section (5th test) he only made it halfway through the questions (similar accuracy).

Given his performance on section 8, it doesn't seem like he was "losing steam" necessarily, and my theory is that he stubbornly got hung up on one question of section 5. He doesn't like to throw in the towel, and probably ate the rest of his time on that one question.

For the writing and reading sections he also had a similar style, though with a much lower accuracy and completion rate.

I think I've now milked this experience for as much as I can! I just need to figure out how to succinctly summarize these results at DS's next planning meeting.

Wow! What a lot of info for $10! You're right: that sounds totally worth it.

Someone could make a killing if they'd sell that data for the Explore, ROFL! Or are we anal OCD parents really in the minority?

LOL! Probably in the minority.

Heck, I didn't even ask to see my DS6's achievement test results until he started having trouble in class! I only developed score-related OCD very recently. <snicker>
