Vitus - A swiss movie about a piano prodigy, who is also fascinated with flying and stock market. His parents see him as a concert pianist, but he is not sure...
Good family movie (there is only mild reference to sex, which this protagonist calls "voluntary exchange of DNA" - since my youngest is already past her maturation day at school, we all laughed at it.)

August... something. About two young musicians who fall in love in a night and the parents seperate them. The young woman becomes pregnant, is separated from son at birth and the baby goes to an orphanage. The boy is an incredible natural musician who is driven to find his parents.......

My girls and I watched it while DH was out of town and we all loved it.

Will have to watch Vitus...

I think it is August Rush. I haven't seen it but a friend of mine told me it was wonderful.

What about "Becoming Jane"? It's about Jane Austen.

Thanx Grinity for reminding me about Beatrix Potter movie. I was following it before the release, and then completely forgotten about it!

I don't remember the name of the B. Potter movie, but I really enjoyed watching it - she was quite a person!

Which reminds me, 'The Incredibles' although about 'superheros' have Gifted subplots about being allowed to strech one's legs and use one's giftes. I love how it illustrates what happens to superhero who 'mask' their gifts!

Xmen movies also have this theme, but less optimistically, i think!

This is not a "GT" movie, but I've been intrigued since Grinity first mentioned it....I just ordered Twelve Angry Men for fun, and hope to watch it before my next IEP meeting. If things go terrible, I can have my own little inside laughter to counter balance the crying. I'm optimistic at this point though. Optimistic but cautious....learned my lesson last year.

With Grinity's comment and the need for PM, I'm anxious to watch Vitus. I'm a little behind in my movie viewing list--lots of good ones out these days.

My DD9 and I watched Vitus he other night. We both adored it and DD is still talking about how great it was to see a film about kids "like us." Thanks for the recommendation!
