I'm pessimistic. However, Margaret Spellings, U.S. Secretary of Education, is seeking input related to the state of education in the U.S. Below is a link to the article "25 Years after 'A Nation at Risk'." There is also a chance to submit comments about how it is affecting our gifted children. As you are painfully aware, support and funding for gifted kids in this country is abysmal. Perhaps that can change??
