There's a group buy on Legos:

http://www.homeschoolbuyersco-op.org

Quote:
The Homeschool Buyers Co-op is pleased to present...
LEGO Education Exclusive discounts on FOUR different Hands-On Science & Math bundles for EVERY age level. These bundles have been put together EXCLUSIVELY for Co-op members! This school year, put some excitement into your Math and Science. Your children can learn to build and manipulate vehicles, hand-operated lifts, a merry-go-round, and more. PLUS teacher manuals and CD's to make it easier on Mom & Dad!

LEGOŽSmart Choices for Every Student

This Group Buy has choices for every Homeschool student! Choose from:

> LEGO Technic elements for building 12 models with special Activity CD included
> A comprehensive physical science Simple Machines set for learning about pulleys, levers, gears, wheels and axles
> Mosaics for learning about symmetry, shapes, colors, and sequences
> Mastering the challenge of Measurement with the Master Ruler and use the Marvels of Measures poster to make sense of confusing concepts

I know there are lots of Lego fans out there, and I figure that especially with Legos, every little bit of savings helps...

Happy Shopping! smile

Has anybody used this? Did you like it? Is it worth the money?

I have the first kit presented, the Motorized Mechanisms kit. It's a good kit. It was the field kit last year for the Junior First LEGO League. I think it's worth the money especially if you're getting a good discount.

DS8 started with this set "Motorized Simple Machines Set" when he joined a Lego class when he was 6yo. We didn't buy it as it was so expensive here. Subsequently, they added the "Pneumatics Activity Pack" (shown as out of stock online) to show how things can work without the use of motors. HTH.
