I hear you Bianca! I also found a report in my "stash" where a kid's 18 in vocabularly is now a 19, so the tables DID change in the 18 range as well. Of course now I'm curious about my guy's 18's, but I don't have any raw score data, . It will make it hard to "compare" kids with old data to kids with new data, since they no longer say the same thing.

I just realized that a friend's of mine son could have really used this information about a year ago. I think in some ways he's borderline, but clearly a child who would benefit from a GT pullout, if not more. He had 2 18's, one under VCI AND one under PRI. His PSI/WMI were lower, as was his Block Design. The other 5 scores in VCI/PRI were clearly MG or more.
Long story short, he had a 130 VCI, achievement all sadly sitting at 129, and a full scale in the lower 120's. I calculated his GAI at 129. I went to bat for this kid, envisioning my new career as "GT advocate". We were not successful. Two classroom teachers were on board, but a high end admin and the testing psych were both dead set against the GT identification, for whatever reason.
Anyway, one of his 18's is now a 19, which bumps his GAI up to 130. The school was not even mildly interested in the GAI, but in my mind, his case would have been more "fightable" with an actual 130 there. It's a moot point, because I can't even begin to picture his mother following any of this, let alone the school. It's just ironic that my "worst case" scenario (the dreaded 129 kid) is now in GAI at least a 130. (It seems one year AFTER my kids were tested, they now regularly give out raw scores at our school....just my luck!)

Of course I was curious, and did question her mom...
Me: "BF was quoting quite the high IQ the other day" BFmom: "Yes, it's 157, can you believe it?" Me: "Wow, you might have some school issues on your hands, was that on the WISC-IV?" BFmom: "Yes"
I watched this kid VERY closely for weeks afterward, and couldn't make any sense of it. Later I overheard her talking with another mom about a big "discrepancy" between scores. I'm quite certain in hindsight that her 157 was on the Slosson screener, that in the hands of an inexperienced school counselor has been known to overinflate (most of 70 or so 130+ scores did not test 130 on the WISC, including at least one score in the 150's!) I can only guess her WISC was more "down to earth" gifted.
Hmmm...the Slosson is a state approved screener. Maybe in my "fight" with the school I should request that for DD. LOL! Honestly, I really don't want to go there. I'm just ready for a WISC at this point. It's tempting, though.

Hello all,
I have been reading this thread and I am not even close to an expert on how this stuff is scored, but my daughter at 8 years, 3 months scored 18's on all 3 of her VCI subtests. After reading the technical report #7 and looking at her scores, it seems that her raw score of 32 in similarities is a 19 according to the report. Does this appear to be right and how would this affect overall FSIQ score and VCI score? She has a VCI of 148 and a FSIQ of 144 currently.
Thanks for any input on clearing this up.
